Programs and Projects
Programs and projects in the Lake Whatcom watershed are largely driven by the Work Plans created for the Joint Lake Whatcom Management Program. Program areas that have been targeted as high priority over the past six years are land preservation, stormwater management, urbanization / land development, and community outreach. High priority water quality concerns that have been targeted include nutrients, fecal coliform and other pollutants (i.e. metals and pesticides).
In this section, you can learn about the latest actions underway in the Lake Whatcom watershed. The actions are described by program area. Information associated with each program area generally includes:
- Goals and policies guiding actions;
- Specific tasks described in 2005 - 2009 Joint Lake Whatcom work plan (reflecting 2006 updates);
- Progress report on recent activities, including 2005 - 2009 Joint Work Plan tasks; and
- Other related information.
For information on earlier work, visit the Work Plan and Accomplishments sections in the About Us portion of the website.
